The Bucktown Boom
It’s no secret that the allure of Bucktown has been on a steady climb over the last few years. With inventory and interest rates at an all-time low, the demand for real estate has driven up the prices of homes. Bucktown was formerly a small fishing village and still has some of the best seafood restaurants and markets around.
With plans to revamp Bucktown, the appeal to live here will only increase. The Bucktown Marsh Boardwalk has been completed and consist of a 1,000-foot boardwalk with bird blinds and information on the wildlife, fish, and plants found in the area. The Bonnabel Boat Launch is also nearby and is great for a day out on the water. Located in the same area, there is a playground and a dog park. The neighborhood country club, Lakeside Country Club, is situated along the levee. Many of the Bucktown locals are members and enjoy spending all summer swimming and playing tennis at the club. It truly is an all-encompassing place to live. Whether you’re looking for an amazing restaurant, a picnic by the lake, or a sunset stroll on the boardwalk or levee, Bucktown has you covered.
The majority of the houses in Bucktown are smaller, older homes. Many are being torn down with large homes replacing them.
